1.
Ordinary 01:59
Days pass So much the same a blur of common and
Ordinary
Deep lines and grey on a face
I barely recognize Empty words fall on deaf ears so far apart So far apart These voids between us will kill us all The final hours
 Will drag unnoticed
As we ignore the fates of All but our own
detached and so selfish so cold and so heartless
How can a world survive When humanity is
All but absent The agony of nothing changing a life so stale Frozen and endless The agony of nothing changing a life so stale Frozen and endless
2.
Blackened 01:46
Grey skies break clear Squint through blackened eyes Those last days spent in unrelenting pain
Unrelenting pain Bruises do not fade  Fade to memory Tiny hands grasp At cold heart Scratch for some sign Some sign of hope To heal takes effort Clock ticks away Nothing Remains clear
3.
Dust 03:37
Dust settles on sweaty brow On bleeding fingers
 On solid flesh
 All this effort
So little progress Crawling back against the wall Crawling back Hidden in isolation Find no safety No safety in regret The rains can’t wash away your guilt All this just to be buried Just to be buried again Day breaks on this loss All this time slips away Time Time slips away
4.
Reign 04:41
Dark deep down below the reign The reign of man
Buried in concrete Concrete and stone A world built
Built so Unsustainable And yet surviving Surviving still
No light but what But we make No life but But what but what you’re told
 Your fate decided
A lifetime before Before your First breath Your first breath No hope to To reach the The world above
The world you You were told Was never real Some primal part of you knows This is not This is not Not What life Life was meant to be Below the end The end of man
5.
Faith 03:01
Devoid of empathy How can you stand in judgment of me
So cold
So selfish So undeserving So undeserving This World
 Owes
 You
 Nothing
But you take All you can But you take All you can All you can and more All you can All you can and more All you can and more This world owes you nothing This world owes you Owes you Owes you Nothing Nothing Nothing
6.
Silence 02:57
Long and silent years crawled by A stranger who’s name I share no common goals
No shared hopes or dreams Just this name and silence Razor sharp and bloodied
This timeline has reached its end Not much feels different This hollow goodbye Goodbye
The new timeline forges on never looking back
 No words spoken
As we passed In unsettling silence In unsettling My face not recognized Would it have mattered Mattered at all If I’d stayed away Would it have mattered Mattered at all If I’d stayed away
7.
Embrace 01:38
Sleepless nights upon sleepless nights No comfort in thought no thoughts of Of comfort
Just the pain and the hours The loneliness And the shame
Push it all away And embrace
and embrace Your pain Pain
8.
Undone 04:58
Frost covers glass Snow muffles sound Another year
Come to a close These devils of my own design Take me down Dark roads I already I already know the way That silence I could not break Even as the end folded in on us That silence I could not break Even as the end folded in on us So much left unsaid So much left undone
The void will remain Carried to my grave The void will remain Carried to my grave
 The silence between
The knowing And the goodbye The silence between The knowing And the goodbye Never undone The silence between The knowing And the goodbye These devils of my own design Take me down Dark roads The void will remain Carried to my grave

Yama-Uba: A Japanese mountain witch. Mother nature is in control, is quite mysterious and extremely powerful—like an erupting volcano—the imagery used for this release.

Jim reflects on the Yama-Uba recording project:
"When Aaron first approached me about adding a voice to Yama-Uba, the plan was to release two separate records. I wrote the lyrics for one EP loosely based on 'Wool', by Hugh Howey. It's a dark, dystopian novel depicting the dwindling remnants of humanity living underground—segregated by a class structure—based on how close to the surface one lived. The second EP was to be much more personal, with the lyrics centering around the guilt I felt after my father passed away. We never had much of a relationship, and as he lay in the hospital for his last few hours, he thought I was someone else. I used the music Aaron and Brock had written as a vehicle to purge that guilt and come to terms with the fact that his life ended, just as our relationship had always been: distant, cold, and hurtful."

Aaron adds:
"This is the second time I've worked with Brock on drums, he's so precise and forces me to stretch the possibilities of my own riff writing. I'm usually quite simple with my own delivery, but with Yama-Uba (and Process Black), his style urges me to work from different areas of my brain. Because this is a recording project only, I was able to take a bit more time to put this all together and to find the best vocalist to round out the project... Jim is perfect. He adds an incredible urgency to both releases, now presented as a single record, I'm so very proud of what we've done here."

Brock adds:
"I’m very proud to have known Aaron for as long as I have and even more proud to have worked on multiple projects with him. Watching the way he works is truly amazing. And, adding Jim to this brought a whole new element, I love it. This and Process Black are unlike any other projects I’ve been a part of."
